If you own an HP multifunction printer and have recently upgraded to IE7 you will probably find that HP Director no longer works. To resolve this problem:

  1. Go to www.hp.com
  2. Click on “Software & Driver Downloads”
  3. Enter your printer model
  4. Select your Operating System (Windows Vista, XP, 2000 etc)
  5. Scroll down to “Updates” section and find update labelled “Critical update to resolve an issue with HP Director after installing Internet Explorer 7“.
  6. Download update and follow prompts to install.

Voila! HP Director should now work again.
