How to download YouTube videos and play them in free FLV player

Sharing YouTube video’s has become a popular past time for many people. If you are like me you probably have a handful of favourite videos from YouTube. Now, in most cases, the author of these videos is most likely to leave these on YouTube indefinately for your viewing pleasure
But if they decide they no longer want their videos online they can quite easily remove them from YouTube’s library.
This actually happened to me with a few Harmonica tutorial videos I had bookmarked. Never again though!
If you want to download a video from YouTube here are the steps. You should first go download FLV Player (the install will ask you if you want to install various other free software and demos. You are not obligated to install these. I personally don’t). Most downloaded YouTuve videos will be in .FLV format which is not playable on your general media players.
1. Go to YouTube and copy the URL for the video you want to download.
2. Go to KeepVid.com and copy URL into form, press DOWNLOAD button
3. Click on >>Download Link<< to download YouTube video to your computer

4. This step is most important. If you check out the screenshot above you will see that in RED it tells you to change the file name from get_video to get_video.flv - this is critical, if you don’t do this the file won’t play!
Thats it! You can now watch your favourite YouTube videos at any time without the internet or on your portable media device!
